HISTORY
Richard Ginori was founded in 1735 in Doccia, in Tuscany, on the outskirts of Florence, on the estate of the Marquis Ginori, one fact you should know is that our name came from the partnering of a descendant the founder, Marquis Carlo Andrea Ginori, with the prosperous industrial Milanese porcelain producer Augusto Richard in 1896.  We have a long, rich history and if you'd like, I can send more information, however it is important that you know how and when we got our name!

Our most famous patterns and best sellers in the HORECA category are Antico Doccia and Vecchio Ginori, both have been in continuous production since 1740 and offer a wide variety of shapes that mirror the evolution of the "table". Please remember that hard paste porcelain is a product of the "age of enlightenment" and many of the sciences, such as botany, gastronomy were born during that era - when the Kings cooks invented a new dish - his porcelain factory created a new vessel to serve it on!  Madame Cliquot brewed champagne while the Marquis Ginori made porcelain art!  What an era!

Our company was acquired by Gucci in May 2013 and since that time have made vast improvements to the corporate structure and production facility in Sesto Fiorentino, Florence, Italy.  Mr. Patrizio DeMarco, the CEO of Gucci, literally saved this venerable brand from destruction when he appealed to the CEO of his parent company, Mr. Francois Pinault to allow him to purchase us.  The synergy between the two brands is simple, timeless design, products made in Italy that embody renowned craftsmanship found only in the Florence region.  With a strong financially sound parent company and the structure of the Kering Group of companies being implemented into Richard Ginori Italy we are poised for a great future.
